A lesson from my 4-year-old daughter

"Hi. Want to be friends?"

Everywhere we go, my daughter makes a friend. She scopes the scene, watches the dynamic a bit, then walks right up, introduces herself, and says with confidence, "Hi. Want to be friends?"

It is perfect in its simplicity.

Yesterday at the beach, same thing. But the kids were burying each other in the sand so she also brought her shovel and pail. Offered to run water up from the ocean or dig alongside them. Ya know, to help.

The encounters always end with a hug
Because it doesn't take long for a connection to happen
Real knows real

Our kids teach us don't they? So... Hi. Want to be friends? We can do this. Say hello below in the comments. Help someone today. Make a friend.
