Champion for boutiques

Early Adopter Investor: I'm not interested in the "Walmarts of asset management."
Me: (speechless and slow clapping)

That comment was from a senior investment professional at a $70B RIA who believes in boutiques. If you are a boutique, take a minute to be proud. I spent an hour with my friend on the phone recently talking about the issues facing our industry. He was dropping gems like these:

  • If we don't support emerging managers and boutiques, we'll be left with only a few mega firms.
"... An investing world of Walmarts"

  • The bigs are asset gatherers creating products with the sole intention of getting bigger, not investing better.
"Untamed growth can be a recipe for mediocrity or worse."

He is a champion for boutiques. For you. And there are more firms like this out there. There's a whole tribe. A whole community. Who believe. So you need to believe too. Believe in what you are building and why you are building it.

You are seen. We are cheering for you.
